


Michiko Saiki
Pianist and multimedia artist Michiko Saiki is a passionate advocate of contemporary music and art. As a soloist and collaborative pianist, Michiko has been invited to various concert series and festivals in Germany, France, England, Turkey and the US. As a visual artist, she has been involved with numerous projects and her video works have been screened in international film festivals in Australia, Belgium, France and the US.
One of her current projects, the Voices of Women, is a multimedia performance project that aims to build a platform for female composers to share women’s personal stories through the genre of the Vocalizing Pianist. Her interpretation of "Lazarus" by Stuart Saunders Smith is released in a CD "Pluralities" by Chen Li Music and "Schattenmusik" by Tobias Schick is released by NEOS. She received her Doctor of Musical Arts in contemporary music with a secondary focus in digital media at Bowling Green State University in Ohio and currently resides in Leipzig, Germany.
